Oldershaw David Grateful Thanks Sue, Fran, Sarah and Becky would like to thank everyone who came to David's funeral. We were really pleased that so many people were able to attend. Thank you for donations to the North Devon Hospice who were so helpful in making David's last days peaceful. We would also like to thank Greenfields respite centre where David spent time after leaving hospital. Their care meant that David could return to his home, Lawrence House, in Barnstaple. For us Lawrence House has been the Gold Standard in care for people with a learning disability. Linda Harvey and her team have looked after David for the past seven years with care, compassion and a lot of fun. They ensured that David was always able to follow his many interests, they welcomed his family on many occasions and have always made special occasions a real treat for David. We were delighted with his 60th birthday celebrations last year. Our biggest thanks go to Linda Harvey who has worked tirelessly on David's behalf during his last illness. She ensured that carers were with David during his stay in hospital and we would like to thank the carers who gave up their own time to be with David. Linda, combined with the learning disability team and the community care team, ensured that David could return to Lawrence House, which was so important to both us and David. David spent his final days peacefully in the home he loved and with the carers he loved.
